Our admission process follows a few easy steps.
1. Getting started
Please contact our Admissions Officer at entry@bstenerife.com or +34 922 33 69 29. We would like to know about your child (or children), including their date of birth, level of education, knowledge of the English language, whether they have studied in the British system, and your intended start date with the school.
It is possible to enroll new students both at the beginning of a new school year and during the school year, if we have availability.
If we do not have availability at the time, we can put your child (or children) on a waiting list if you are interested. We would reach out to you if places become available.
We prefer accept students with a long-term commitment to the school (at least one year). However, at times we may have availability for short-term enrollment, in particular in the lower age groups.
2. Meeting with school leadership
After the first contact, we would schedule a meeting with the Head of Early Years, Head of Primary, or Head of Secondary, depending on your children’s age. Our staff will give you more information about the school and answer any questions you may have.
If you are in Tenerife, this meeting can be done in person. Otherwise, we will be happy to schedule a video conference. The school is not open for visitors every day and you need to schedule this appointment in advance.
For Secondary students (years 7 to 13):
- we ask for the last two school reports of the student from their current / previous school, preferably in advance of the meeting;
- we would prefer that the students join the meeting, so we can assess their level of English.
During or after the meeting, our Admissions Officer will provide information on matters such as school uniform, transport, school routines, extra curricular activities and lunch arrangements. Most of this information is also available on the school’s website.
3. Formal application
Please contact our Admissions Officer at entry@bstenerife.com and express your intention to join. At this point, if there is availability, we will make you a formal offer to join the school and ask you to fill the required forms. Note that parents must pay the registration fee and the deposit fee (which are listed on the school fees page) in order to secure their children’s place in the school.
For expat families, note that we do not require your children to have Spanish residence yet, in order to be accepted in the school.
We look forward to seeing you and your children at the British School of Tenerife, and to welcoming your family to our community.
