At the British International School of Tenerife, our teachers are dedicated to guiding students towards their ideal future paths. Starting at the end of Year 9, we hold advisory conversations with both students and parents to discuss potential subject choices for their upcoming IGCSEs (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) in Year 10. We focus on each student’s individual motivations and aspirations. By Year 11, we organize our annual Y11 Futures Event in February, where students can explore A-level options (Advanced Levels qualifications) and the various  pathways these choices can lead to post-secondary education. We use Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and Pearson Edexcel as our examination boards. They are both globally recognized qualifications. For our international students who plan to continue their post-secondary studies abroad, we provide tailored guidance to help them navigate their future academic journeys. Our school works in partnership with BridgeU, which offer services to students, teachers, counsellors, and higher education institutions across 140+ countries by facilitating pupils journey of exploration, research, and application to the most suitable global higher education institutions.
