Local fire station

The Nursery children spent Friday morning at our local fire station pretending to be fire people.

Early Years: Día de Canarias

This year to celebrate Día de Canarias the children in Early Years dressed up in the traditional Canarian clothing and sang and danced for their parents to Canarian music. During the week the children also participated in cooking; they made gofio balls and banana bread.

Butterfly Park – Icod de los Vinos

To compliment the work our Reception children have been doing  in class about the life cycle of a butterfly,  we had a fantastic day at the Butterfly Park in Icod de los Vinos. Where we saw lots of different types of butterflies and chrysalises.

Carnival and Pancake Day celebrations

In Early Years we celebrated Carnival with some singing and dancing for our parents and later in the day we had a carnival party where all the children ate together and played some games. We, also incorporated pancake day into the celebrations, the children enjoyed eating

Family Mornings

In February the parents enjoyed coming to school for the morning to spend time with their child’s class and activities in the sports hall. Everyone seemed to have lots of fun and the children were very happy to share their day with their families.

Diwali in Early Years

In our Early Years department, we have been celebrating Diwali. The children have been listening to stories about Diwali and made Diyas, lanterns and rangoli pictures with coloured rice. One of our parents came to talk to our Reception children about how and why they celebrate
